While I'm away on vacation, I know that she and my two cats are safe and well cared for. The staff is amazing. Thank you for being there if I ever have an emergency too!

My 20 yr. old cat fought kidney disease for over a year and they were wonderful teaching me how to give him his sub Q fluids so I could do it at home. When he stopped eating about a month ago, I called to ask what to do and they took the time to talk with me about options. They put me at ease and patiently answered my questions while listening to me cry over the phone. When I brought him in the next day to put him to sleep, they were all so caring. I stayed with him and kissed his head while he went to sleep. It was very peaceful and they were so compassionate. My cats are part of my family and deserve the best possible care and that is what they get here at Mt. Wachusett Animal Hospital and Pet Retreat.

Major ripoff. Beware of this place.

This past winter my son came home from college and his kitten got into the grease drippings and got extremely ill. Although this kitten was not normally seen by them they were wonderful treating her.

Best Doggie Day Care around!!! My girl always comes home with a smile. As soon as we arrive she can't pull me inside quick enough to go see all of her friends. It's really convenient that they have a full time groomer too. One stop shop!

Staff were incredibly kind, compassionate people and were willing to provide the best care they could for my cat within our tiny budget.

I brought my cat to the emergency clinic because she wasn’t breathing. Although they were very focused on money we had to take all of the charges and drain my bank account because no local places were open at that time of night and she was too weak to transfer. The staff was very nice but the late night vet seemed like she didn’t know how to handle the situation, she recommended we put our cat down but we told her we were going to wait. Next morning she was still in the same condition, but after the shifts changed my cat started to make a 180. Turns out she has heart disease and her heart was failing and they saved her life. She’s been taking medication and we have been refilling the pills through Wachusett and they checked her kidneys twice. Then I made a call to refill her medications and they were happy to do it as usual but SEVERAL HOURS later we get a call saying they cannot refill her LIFE SAVING medication because they are not her primary care vet. We called our primary care vet and they did not have any information about my cats medications and now we have an appointment with our primary care vet so we can give my cat her medications and keep her alive.

I'm going to give this hospital a 2-star rating because for the most part the staff is friendly and professional...but I will never bring my pets here again.

I have never had a bad experience here. Everyone is professional and compassionate. I have been bringing my two cats here for over 5 years and am extremely grateful for the excellent care they have received. One of my cats had to have emergency surgery when he was 12 for a urinary obstruction and 4 years later is doing great!

Recently we took our 4 month old kittens to their checkups. For 4 months, our indoor kitties and house was free of fleas. Even the vet checked them. No fleas. Two days after the visit, we see the first fleas. Now our house is infested. When we informed the hospital, they told us "it's not possible for your pet to get fleas here because there's no carpet." Well guess what? Our house has no carpet either and fleas are now thriving! Instead they charge us $150 total for flea treatment. They also charge double the amount for spaying/neutering as all the other vets we've called in MA. ($400 for my male kitten... which I've been told is "unheard of.")
